& Wendy
the Golden Retriever

A true friend knows your weaknesses but shows you your strengths; feels your fears but fortifies your faith; sees your anxieties but frees your spirit; recognizes your disabilities but emphasizes your possibilities.
William Arthur Ward
Kato started life from a litter of 10, all nephews & nieces of Rossi. Little did Kato know that 2 weeks after coming into the world, on opening his eyes he would clap sight on my ugly mush.
I visited the litter regularly and at 7 weeks of age I needed to take my pick from the litter. Of the 10 puppies, 2 seemed to have the long coat gene. This didn't bother me as I didn't need the looks of the breed, I needed the brains and solid temperament that came with good breeding.
At 7 weeks of age, 2 dogs stood out head and shoulders above the rest. Everything about these 2 ticked the boxes. So my choice was between the 2 long haired dogs. It was a difficult decision but I finally chose my lad and waited 1 further week before he joined me and our journey began.
Choosing his name was the difficult part. My speech is far from good so I needed a name that I could say, that wouldn't sound similar to Rossi and a name that would mean something to me.
So Kato was named after Daijiro Kato, the late MotoGP rider and friend to Valentino Rossi.
Kato adores Rossi and our cat Figa. Actually Kato loves everyone and everything. He's a typical Rottweiler; loving, intelligent, loyal, playful and gentle companion.
